A microtubule-based flagellum (or cilium) that is part of a sperm, a mature male germ cell that develops from a spermatid.

Note that cilia and eukaryotic flagella are deemed to be equivalent. In this case community usage is always 'flagellum', hence the primary term name, but the cilium parentage is deliberate.
