The passage of a leukocyte between the tight junctions of endothelial cells lining blood vessels, typically the fourth and final step of cellular extravasation.

Note that the term diapedesis, although sometimes used as a direct synonym for cellular extravasation, is used here for the specific final step of the process, in concordance with recent reviews of the topic.
